According to my Trip It app, only 33 days until we head to Scotland. Snowdrops are blooming in Bridgend, so spring should be in full bloom once we arrive. With the exception of a ferry ticket and a couple of bus transfers, we are all set on our itinerary. We will see how that goes once we get there!
Wondering about the food - hope to eat some fresh seafood while on the island. Some lamb when once back on the mainland would be fine. I imagine we will eat quite a bit of pub food versus fine dining. And lots of backpacking picnic fare for our daily forays along Hadrian's Wall and to the various sites on Islay.
Speaking of Islay, this drawing of the island shows how the island is shaped like an old witch. We are spending a day exploring each of her parts - head, humped back and legs. The place which would be her neck indicates two islands which smashed together at some time in the past. The two parts are geologically dissimilar, with the western coastal region a completely separate geology than the eastern region.
I hear some maps crackling - better go see what Blue is up to!
